The Pilates Method

The Pilates Method is a form of body conditioning that aims to create space, length and balanced strength in the body. Movements are whole-body, with an emphasis on moving from a stable centre in good alignment. The aim is to gradually reform the body by grooving better movement patterns.

Pilates is a safe and healthy movement practice for anyone – from those recovering from injury or illness to performance athletes – as each individual works at the boundaries of their own limitations of alignment, strength and flexibility.

Our classical style Purist Pilates equipment includes the Reformer, the Cadillac, the High Chair, the Wunda Chair, the Baby Armchair, The Pedipole, the Spine Corrector and the Small Barrel, as well as other small pieces of equipment such as the Magic Circle.
